Wrekinsport CC Spring 5 No.1 2018
Wrekinsport's club season opened with a traditional fast and furious 5 mile event which saw 18 year-old Sam Morris take a dominant win in blustery conditions. Morris stopped the watch on 11 minutes 33 seconds to win by 39 seconds from Wrekinsport's Chris Halford in a race taking place between Crudgington and Shawbirch.
Chris Halford came out best from the six riders representing the promoting club with threatened rain thankfully keeping away, crossing the line in 12:12 to push team mate Adam Mumford out by 13 seconds. This traditional season-opener is an ideal way to blast off the winter cobwebs and a good distance for first-timers, with Steve Mold posting a respectable 15:13 in his first time trial.
