Another week, but the same winner in Round 3 of the Decathlon Evening 10 Series by Wrekinsport as Tomos Hales took the plaudits again on the tight and technical Long Lane circuit. Hales stopped the watch on 22 minutes 18 seconds, 21 seconds down on his Round 2 time despite a relatively still evening. Hales opened up his Series lead to four points over Phil Roberts, who finished third on the day in 23:23, with Aerologic rider Jonathan Mills-Keeling taking the runner-up spot in 22:56.

Roberts had a late charge thanks to a negative split strategy after being 11 seconds down on new Wrekinsport member Oli Freeman at the 2½ mile point, a single second down after 6¼ miles, but nine seconds ahead by the finish.

Hayley Wells continues to improve, knocking 35 seconds off her Round 2 effort to tie for 6^th spot overall with Wrekinsport Junior Ben Southgate on 24:24. Southgate’s competition was in the shape of Newport 13 year old Ben Bradford-Hale with a personal best 28:13, whilst Wells’ came from Victoria Doran in 32:52.

In the Road Bike category David Seager headed into the sole lead of that Series with a close win over Matt Price of seven seconds after Seager ended his evening on 27:41 at the head of an encouraging seven riders participating in this back-to-basics format.
