What started as a novelty ode to the world famous Leige-Bastogne-Leige bike race a group of local Telford riders did their own #LBL, Leegomery-Baschurch-Leegomery
This year Telford's own #LBL will take on a new meaning as one of the original organizers, and @wrekinsportcc committee member will be remembering 1 year since his very personal ‘CRANIVERSARY’ – craniotomy anniversary.
As a mark of his appreciation, supported by @wrekinsportcc, the Telford #LBL will be run as a charity event hoping to raise much needed funds for The Brain Tumour Charity.
There will be two routes for riders to choose:
Telford LBL route with a stop in Welshampton Village Hall for complimentary tea/coffee and cake. We have a suggested £10 donation per rider doing this route. Route details can be found here
From the Leisure Centre to Black Birches Garden Centre and back. We have a suggested £5 donation for this route. Route details can be found here.
We would look to collect donations from riders on the day but please feel free to donate direct via a JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/glynjervislbl
Setting off at intervals from the Wellington Leisure Centre – sign on from 8:30am, first group 9am. Groups of 12 for safety and released at 5 min intervals and organised according to rider capability. All groups will have ride leaders to ensure that everyone is looked after.
Recovery drinks will be available at the Red Lion, Wellington Road (that's code for "The bar is open").
