Personal bests were beaten and a Gold medal settled in Round 12 of the Decathlon Evening 10 Series by Wrekinsport as a visiting rider took the win. Nova Raiders' Tim Beardmore put in a dominant ride, beating the nearest opposition by over a minute in a fine field of 23 riders. Beardmore stopped the watch on 22 minutes 17 seconds as he continues his late season come back after being out injured for the start of it.

Beardmore's nearest challenge came from Decathlon Series leader Rich Smith, who stretched his lead at the top of the Series after pushing out the rider in second place in the standings by 13 seconds. Smith put the benefits of a training camp on Majorca to good use to finish in 23:21 despite the attentions of Tomos Hales, with Hales beating third placed Rob Jackson by exactly the same 13 second margin. These three riders are pulling away at the top of the Series and look a shoo-in for the medals if they maintain the pressure over the final three rounds.

The Gold medal was clinched in the Road Bike Series as Wrekinsport Chairman Dave Moore was left pondering how to address the difficult task of presenting the trophy to himself at the club's annual dinner. Moore has turned out for this Series on a motley collection of classic bikes but each time he has competed has still managed to take the maximum six points available every time. Here he rode to victory in an impressive 26:44 despite Bethan Till posting a fine personal best 27:37 to take the runner-up spot.

Till wasn't the only one to record a personal best as both of the club's Junior riders performed just that feat. Newly signed Jack Inglis beat the benchmark 20mph barrier by just five seconds in 29:55, whilst Henry Fleming was delighted with his 30:34 as he continues to get used to his new dedicated TT bike.
