A tight battle between Oli Freeman and Phil Roberts saw Freeman extend his lead following Round 11 of the Decathlon Evening 10 Series by Wrekinsport. 90% of Freemans’ 10 second advantage was opened up with in a speedy first 2½ miles as he blazed off the start line and added just a solitary second to the difference over the remaining 7½ miles of the tight Long Land circuit. Freeman stopped the watch on 22 minutes 36 seconds to open up an 11 point lead over Tomos Hales, otherwise engaged winning a County-level race taking place at the same time. These were the only two riders dipping below 23 minutes, with the final podium spot going to 17 year-old and rapidly improving Ben Southgate in 23:31.

The Women’s race was taken by Deb Hutson-Lumb after a late start to her season in 24:06. This was strong enough to take 4^th spot overall, five seconds ahead of Road Bike winner Hamish MacLean of Musselburgh RCC.

The Road Bike competition is definitely heating up as Matt Price took his second win in as many weeks to close the gap on Series leader David Seager to six points. Price took maximum points after a fine 26:26 effort to beat club Chairman Dave Moore by 11 seconds, with Seager back on 27:48.
