11 Aug 2022 21:55 | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Bridgnorth CC’s Tim Beardmore took the win in Round 12 of the Decathlon Evening 10 Series by Wrekinsport on a warm evening ahead of a good field of 20 solo riders plus a tandem. Beardmore crossed the line in 21 minutes 36 seconds showing just why he is County Champion – as Tomos Hales for once had to be content with the runner-up spot. Hales returned to the top of the Series by just a solitary point with a solid effort of 22:01, beating off the attentions of Chris Halford by eight seconds.

In the Road Bike Series Ben Wood took the win in 25:16 with the closest rider Swansea University Cycling Team’s Oscar Johnstone in 26:43. With six competitors on road bikes this is the largest turnout of the season with Clare Cotterill taking third spot in 29:36. Cotterill was runner-up in the Women's event as there was no stopping Deb Hutson-Lumb with a fabulous effort of 23:47 – good enough for equal 7th Overall.
